Repository Policy
Agrivolution is committed to open access, knowledge dissemination, and academic transparency, aligning with best practices recommended by Sherpa Romeo. To support author rights, research visibility, and long-term accessibility, we allow and encourage authors to archive and share their work at various stages of the publication process in institutional repositories, preprint servers, and other open-access platforms.
Permitted Versions for Archiving
Authors are allowed to deposit the following versions of their manuscripts in any repository, preprint server, or personal website, provided they comply with proper attribution and licensing requirements:
- Preprint (Author’s Original Manuscript / AOM)
- Authors may freely share the original version of their manuscript before peer review.
- Preprints can be deposited in recognized preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, AgriXiv, SSRN, Research Square, bioRxiv) and institutional repositories.
- Authors should update the preprint with a link to the published version once available.
- Postprint (Accepted Manuscript / Peer-Reviewed Version)
- Authors may archive the peer-reviewed, accepted version after revisions but before journal formatting and typesetting.
- Deposits should include a citation to the final published article and a link to the DOI on the Agrivolution website.
- Published Version (Version of Record / VoR)
- Authors may deposit the final, publisher-formatted PDF in any open-access repository, institutional database, research networks, or personal websites.
- The Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) applies, allowing unrestricted sharing and reuse with proper attribution.
Conditions for Self-Archiving
- Authors must include a full citation to the published article, linking to the Agrivolution homepage or DOI.
- The archived version must clearly state its publication status (e.g., "Preprint before peer review," "Accepted version," or "Published version").
- Authors may update repositories with the final version after official publication to maximize research impact.
No Embargo Policy
- Agrivolution imposes no embargo period on self-archiving. Authors can immediately deposit their work in any repository upon submission, acceptance, or publication.
By embracing a progressive repository policy, Agrivolution ensures that research remains accessible, reusable, and globally impactful, supporting the principles of open knowledge and scholarly collaboration.
