Peer Review Policy
Agrivolution upholds the highest standards of scholarly publishing by implementing a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer-review process. This ensures that all submitted manuscripts receive an objective, thorough, and high-quality evaluation before publication. Our peer-review system is designed to maintain research integrity, enhance scientific accuracy, and provide constructive feedback to authors while supporting editorial decision-making.
1. Initial Submission & Editorial Screening
- Authors submit their manuscripts via the journal’s online submission system, ensuring compliance with the Author Guidelines and ethical policies.
- The Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors conduct a preliminary screening to assess the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope, originality, language quality, and adherence to ethical standards.
- Manuscripts that fail to meet basic submission criteria (e.g., excessive plagiarism, incomplete sections, or out-of-scope topics) are immediately desk-rejected or returned for revision.
2. Plagiarism Check & Ethical Compliance
- All submissions undergo a plagiarism check using Turnitin, with a maximum similarity threshold of 30% (excluding references and commonly used phrases).
- Manuscripts are assessed for compliance with COPE Core Practices, including authorship criteria, conflicts of interest, data integrity, and ethical approval for human or animal research.
3. Assignment to Reviewers (Double-Blind Peer Review)
- Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to two or more independent reviewers with expertise in the subject area.
- The double-blind review process ensures that reviewers do not know the identities of the authors, and vice versa, preserving objectivity and eliminating bias.
- Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and previous peer-review contributions.
4. Reviewers’ Evaluation & Feedback
- Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following criteria:
- Scientific rigor, originality, and contribution to the field
- Methodological soundness and data validity
- Relevance to agrotechnology and innovation
- Clarity, coherence, and structure of the manuscript
- Proper citation and adherence to ethical standards
- Reviewers provide constructive feedback and recommendations to either:
- Accept with minor or no revisions
- Request major revisions and resubmission
- Reject due to fundamental flaws or lack of originality
5. Author Revisions & Resubmission
- If revisions are requested, authors are required to:
- Address all reviewer comments point-by-point in a response letter.
- Submit a revised manuscript with tracked changes.
- The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation or reviewed by the editorial team.
6. Editorial Decision & Final Acceptance
- The Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors make the final publication decision based on reviewers’ feedback and the authors' revisions.
- Possible editorial decisions include:
- Accepted for publication
- Accepted with minor revisions (editorial changes only)
- Major revisions required (additional peer review may be conducted)
- Rejected with feedback (if the manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards)
7. Copyediting, Proofreading & Publication
- Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting and formatting to ensure clarity, readability, and adherence to journal style guidelines.
- Authors receive final proofs for review and approval before publication.
- The article is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and published in the next available issue under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license, ensuring open access and unrestricted global readership.
8. Post-Publication Engagement & Corrections
- Published articles are indexed in relevant databases and promoted through academic networks and social media to maximize visibility and citations.
- The journal allows for post-publication discussions, corrections, and retractions, following COPE guidelines.
