Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Applied Mathematics and Modelling (JAMM) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited, and all submitted manuscripts undergo rigorous plagiarism screening to ensure compliance with ethical publishing standards.
1. Plagiarism Detection and Screening
JAMM uses Turnitin to detect similarities between submitted manuscripts and existing literature. Each submission is screened before entering the peer-review process to ensure the authenticity and originality of the work.
2. Acceptable Similarity Threshold
✔ The maximum allowable similarity index is 30% (excluding references and properly quoted text).
✔ If the similarity index exceeds 30%, the manuscript will be automatically rejected without further review.
✔ If the similarity index is between 20% and 30%, the editorial team will conduct a detailed evaluation. Authors may be asked to revise and properly cite the sources before proceeding with the review process.
3. Forms of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable
JAMM strictly defines and prohibits the following forms of plagiarism:
???? Direct Plagiarism – Copying verbatim content from other sources without proper citation.
???? Self-Plagiarism – Republishing one’s own previously published work without proper citation or justification.
???? Mosaic Plagiarism – Paraphrasing content from multiple sources while retaining the original meaning without attribution.
???? Image or Data Plagiarism – Using images, figures, or datasets without appropriate permissions or citations.
???? Uncredited Translation – Translating content from another language and presenting it as original work.
4. Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage—before, during, or after publication—JAMM will take the following actions:
❌ Before peer review – The manuscript is rejected immediately.
❌ During peer review – The review process is halted, and the manuscript is returned to the authors for correction or rejection.
❌ After publication – The article may be retracted, and the authors may be blacklisted from submitting future works.
5. Ethical Compliance and Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring their manuscript is original, properly cited, and ethically sound. By submitting to JAMM, authors confirm that:
- The manuscript is their own original work and has not been published elsewhere.
- Proper citations and references have been provided for all sourced content.
- They have not engaged in text recycling or self-plagiarism beyond justified reuse.
JAMM follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Core Practices to handle any instances of plagiarism and ethical misconduct.
???? JAMM maintains a zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism—ensuring academic integrity and research excellence.
