About the Journal

Sustainable Agriculture Research and Innovation (SARI) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes high-quality research articles, reviews, and case studies on innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture. SARI serves as a global forum for scientists, researchers, policymakers, and agricultural practitioners to exchange knowledge and drive the transition towards more resilient, eco-friendly, and economically viable agricultural systems.

Focus and Scope

SARI covers a wide range of interdisciplinary topics related to sustainable agriculture, including but not limited to:

  1. Agroecology and Climate-Smart Agriculture: Ecological intensification and biodiversity-based farming, organic and regenerative agriculture practices, climate change adaptation and mitigation in agriculture, carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas reduction strategies.
  2. Plant Protection and Sustainable Pest Management: Integrated pest and disease management (IPM), biological control and microbial-based biopesticides, host resistance and genetic approaches for pest and disease control, impact of climate change on pest and pathogen dynamics.
  3. Soil Health, Water Management, and Sustainable Land Use: soil microbiome and its role in sustainable crop production, conservation tillage, cover cropping, and soil restoration, efficient irrigation and water-saving technologies; soil salinity, erosion control, and land degradation prevention.
  4. Biotechnology and Genetic Innovations: genetically modified and gene-edited crops for sustainability, marker-assisted breeding for stress resilience and productivity, microbial biofertilizers and bio-stimulants for sustainable soil fertility, advances in omics technologies for crop improvement.
  5. Precision Agriculture and Digital Technologies: Internet of Things (IoT) and smart farming applications, remote sensing, GIS, and data-driven decision-making in agriculture, Robotics, AI, and automation for sustainable farming; Blockchain and traceability in sustainable food systems.
  6. Sustainable Agri-Food Systems and Socioeconomic Aspects: food security, nutrition, and sustainable value chains, circular economy and waste valorization in agriculture, agroforestry, permaculture, and integrated farming systems, policy frameworks, economic incentives, and global governance for sustainable agriculture.

SARI seeks to accelerate the adoption of innovative agricultural solutions that enhance productivity, conserve biodiversity, and mitigate the impact of climate change. By disseminating high-quality, impactful research, SARI supports global efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to zero hunger (SDG 2), climate action (SDG 13), and life on land (SDG 15).
